Harbor Stewards are requested to act as the eyes and ears of the Harbormaster and the Harbor Commission for what is occurring in their assigned harbor.
It is felt that Harbor Stewards can use their intimate knowledge of their particular harbor to assist the Harbormaster and the Harbor Commission to maintain the condition and usage of that harbor within the established guidelines.
Harbor Stewards may also be asked to:
* Assist with certain harbor projects as is appropriate.
* Assist the Harbormaster with checking for moorage payments.
* Distribute harbor rules and other useful information to both resident and visiting boaters.
* Attend Harbor Commission meetings as requested.
* Provide a brief report, at least quarterly, on their activities and observations to the Harbor Commission.
* Provide assistance to boaters when required and especially during storms and other emergencies, when vessels may have broken their moorings and are adrift.
* Serve as Dock Hosts at Eagle Harbor Waterfront Park.
If you are interested in becoming a Harbor Steward, please contact Tami Allen, Harbormaster (780-3733), or a Harbor Commissioner. To Sign up as a volunteer dock host directly, sign up
