Kirsten Hytopoulos began her service on the Bainbridge Island City Council in January of 2010. Since first moving to the Island in 2002, she has been a strong advocate for a number of Island issues including environmental protection, effective and responsive city government and preservation of Bainbridge Island’s unique character and way of life. Prior to her election, her community-based work included founding and moderating Green Voices for Bainbridge Island and serving as a spokesperson for the campaign to adopt the Council-Manager form of government.
During her tenure on Council, Kirsten has served on a number of council committees, and has represented the City as a member of the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council and the Kitsap Board of Health. During 2011, Kirsten had the honor of serving as the Council elected Mayor of Bainbridge Island.
Kirsten received her law degree in 1996 from the University of Arizona College of Law and practices Family Law on the Island.
